Radiant Historia is a very interesting game. A lot of time traveling is included in it in addition to the magnificent combat system which is innovative in many ways.

The time traveling and the combat system of the game are extraordinary. But this is not all the gameplay lies on. The characters are created in a very way that they feel real. What’s more, there are many side quests that affect the game and may change its end.

From the first look the story of the game may not look interesting at all but it involves a lot of mystery which makes it quite thrilling and enjoyable. You are Stocke an intelligence special unit of Alistel – one of the two great kingdoms in a huge desert in which everything is turned into sand. The other kingdom is called Granorg. These two kingdoms keep trying to wipe the other one out. They do all sorts of trickery, both tactical and political. You appear to find the White Chronicle – a text that enables you to travel in time. You use it in order to change the course of events and prevent the world of becoming a huge desert. However, there is a force that keeps changing the history for the worse and is an obstacle for you. One great advantage of the game is that you are constantly in personal contact with a lot of ally characters and you often do everything possible to save them.

In the battlefield the uniqueness of the game shows. It is not only a combat game. It also involves a lot of thinking about what the perfect strategy is. Different enemies have different skills and can be killed in various ways – you just have to find out which way is the best.

In order to gain experience you have to win award points that are given for combos. Combos not only grant you more award points but they also deal more damage. A disadvantage is that there aren’t that many enemy formations and once you’ve come up with a solution for a particular formation you can use it again and again.

Radiant History includes a nostalgic effect in the game. It is so well implemented that even when you stop playing the game you keep feeling nostalgia. Another thing that involves you more and more in the game is the music. It is incredible and varies a lot for the different situation. You will practically feel as if there would never be a better music for the specific situation.

As far as I am concerned, the most interesting part of the game is when someone requests and item that no longer exists. You have two options – you can either travel back in time in order to look for it or visit an alternate universe where it might exist.

With the R 4 cards and the R4i this game runs so smooth you may even think you are not playing but this is real life. This enables you to take most of the enjoyment and have a lot of fun while playing.
